ANGELA
is talking with BRIAN.
BRIAN
I
have a long day ahead. How about you?
ANGELA
Well,
you could probably tell from the alarm going off at 6am that I have a pretty
full day.
BRIAN
Well,
just think, in three weeks we’ll be on our honeymoon.
ANGELA
You
would not believe how much I have to do before the wedding.
BRIAN
I
have a lot to too.
ANGELA
Yeah,
right. The groom just has to pick up his
tux and be done with it.
BRIAN
Wrong. We planned the reception together but I still
have to meet with the caterer next week.
ANGELA
But
you don’t have to worry about your hair being a disaster or your dress not
fitting just right.
BRIAN
Angela,
you are going to look stunning, and we both know it.
ANGELA
Now
here’s the reason I’m marrying you.
BRIAN
I
can be sweet when I want to be.
ANGELA
You’re
always sweet, which is hard to believe considering who your mother is.
BRIAN
Oh
no, tell me she hasn’t been in touch with you.
ANGELA
Well,
other than the voice mail telling me it’s not too late to back out of this
lifelong commitment, no, haven’t heard a thing.
BRIAN
I’ll
talk to her. Again. I don’t want her ruining our wedding. Maybe we should cross her off the guest list.
ANGELA
No. She is your mother. She can’t ruin our wedding day no matter what
she tries. And compared to living with
her, this will be a piece of cake.
BRIAN
I’m
just glad Caroline (hired her full-time at Rockland Construction so she could
get a place of her own.
Dante
knocks and walks through the open office door.
DANTE
Angela,
Brian, I’m sorry to interrupt, but Ang, I really need
to talk to you.
ANGELA
To me? Okay.
BRIAN
I
have to get to work anyway. We still on
for lunch?
ANGELA
You
got it.
Brian
kisses Angela and then starts walking out.
BRIAN
Take
it easy, Dante.
DANTE
Yeah, you too.
ANGELA
So
what’s on your mind, Dante? Are you
finally ready to forgive my brother for his indiscretion with Barbara
Whitman? Or do you plan on holding that
little grudge forever.
DANTE
I’m
here to see my father, Angela. Dan
Levin. He’s a patient of yours.
ANGELA
Your father?
DANTE
It’s
okay. I know the truth. Caroline told me that Dan remembered this in
a session with you.
ANGELA
I
knew it was just a matter of time before you found out, after what happened at
Miranda’s trial.
DANTE
And
you were right. So can I see him?
ANGELA
All
Dan’s visitors have to be approved by his sister, Dee. I can’t make that decision on my own.
DANTE
Then
let’s call her up.
ANGELA
I
actually spoke with her a few days ago.
She went to
DANTE
Then
bend the rules and let me in, Angela. I
need to talk to this guy. I’ve heard
about him through the years because he was my Dad’s step-brother, but I don’t
even remember him.
ANGELA
I
can’t do that. Look, talk to
DANTE
Ugh,
I was hoping to see him now. I stopped
by here last night but you were gone. I
have so many emotions going on at the same time right now. I just need to confront this.
ANGELA
Listen,
these few days might be a good thing for you.
Sort through your feelings before you see Dan. And honestly, if you aren’t a little calmer
when
DANTE
Fine. I’ll chill out before I
see him. But I will see him,
Angela.
ANGELA
Dante,
with all this going on in your life, wouldn’t it be a good time to reach out to
Damien? You two have been best friends
for so long now. Don’t you miss your
friendship?
DANTE
Of
course I do, but I can’t forget what he did.
ANGELA
Go
talk to him, Dante. He misses you
too. Go straighten this whole mess
out. Please.
