ANGELA
has just arrived to see DAMIEN.
ANGELA
I
knew this was going to blow up in your face some day.
DAMIEN
Oh
God, Angela, the last thing I need is an I told you so
right now.
ANGELA
Hey,
that’s what big sister’s are for. So how
are you doing? You ran out of the church
so quickly I couldn’t catch up with you.
DAMIEN
I
tried to find Barbara, but she was gone.
I can’t believe that Paul went through with the wedding knowing about my
affair with Barbara. Was he just trying
to humiliate her in front of half of
ANGELA
Apparently. You know Paul has a
vicious streak a mile wide. And it
worries me that you might be on the receiving end of that now.
DAMIEN
I
can handle Paul.
ANGELA
No,
what you need to do is stay completely away from him, Damien. Do you hear me?
DAMIEN
I
need to go over there and see Dante. His
cell phone is off and I haven’t talked to him since the wedding.
ANGELA
Maybe
you should give him some time to cool off.
DAMIEN
He’s
my best friend, Angela. I want him to
understand exactly what happened.
ANGELA
I’m
not sure he’s going to be so forgiving.
He may not have the best relationship with his father, but he does love
him, and he’s probably not too pleased with you right now.
DAMIEN
I
still love her, you know.
ANGELA
Oh,
Damien. Why do you always fall for women
who either are untouchable or who are just plain wrong for you? I wish you could meet someone special, like I
have with Brian.
DAMIEN
Barbara
is special. And now that Paul is out of
the picture…
ANGELA
Don’t
even think about it, Damien. Barbara
needs to be off limits for you. Trust
me.
EVE
is in the living room talking with ARDEN and BRIAN.
BRIAN
Barbara
is gone from the main house.
How
did she get away so fast? She couldn’t
have taken all her things.
BRIAN
I
don’t know.
Poor Aunt Barbara. I can’t believe she was
humiliated on her wedding day.
EVE
Poor Aunt Barbara? What about poor us? She’s out on the streets and we’ll probably
be next. Do you really think Paul Ramos
is going to let Barbara’s niece continue to stay in the guest house?
BRIAN
Mom,
stop only thinking about yourself.
EVE
Easy for you to say. You’re not about to be
tossed out of your home on your keister.
This
isn’t our home, Mom. We’re guests of
Dante. It’s time we find a place of our
own anyway. I mean, “separate”
places of our own.
EVE
What
are you trying to say,
Mom,
let’s not do this right now. I need to
go find Aunt Barbara and make sure she’s alright.
EVE
You
know, sometimes I wonder if you’re really my daughter. I mean, maybe the
babies got mixed up at the hospital and my real daughter, with a heart of steel
is out there somewhere wondering why her mother is all sunshine and light.
I’m
so sorry to disappoint you, mother. But
I’m happy with the way I am.
BRIAN
Let’s
get out of here,
