BARBARA
has just arrived to see PAUL excited about the wedding plans she has been
making.
BARBARA
Paul,
a Valentine’s wedding must have been fated for us. Everything is falling into place so nicely.
PAUL
Money
talks, my dear.
BARBARA
It
sure does.
PAUL
Speaking
of money, I was thinking about your brother, Frank. Now that the two of you have re-connected, I
assume he’ll be attending the wedding?
BARBARA
Well,
uh, he definitely wants to, but that Frank, his schedule is so hectic. He’s never in one place for too long.
PAUL
And
he doesn’t have to stick around
BARBARA
Oh,
that’s sweet Paul, but I already asked Brian to give me away at the wedding.
PAUL
There’s
something I’m not quite clear on. Was
Frank a Morgan or a Whitman? I believe I
heard Eve say that Morgan was her married name.
BARBARA
Paul,
don’t be listening to that whack job.
Frank was a Morgan and so was I.
When I left
PAUL
I
see. I seem to learn something new about
you every day, Barbara.
BARBARA
Sweetie,
we’ll both learn new things about each other all the time. But you know all the important things like
how much I love you and want to be your wife.
PAUL
Yes,
I do know that. And I’ve managed to
clear my schedule for two full weeks so we’ll have plenty of time to continue
getting to know each other on our honeymoon.
BARBARA
You
booked the honeymoon? Where are we
going?
PAUL
Barbara,
you know I want that to be a surprise.
It’s the one thing you’re allowing me
to plan for this wedding.
BARBARA
I
have complete faith that it’s going to be amazing.
PAUL
Oh,
I think you’ll approve. And this is
only the beginning, Barbara. I’m going
to give you the life you’ve always dreamed about.
ASHLEY
is talking with IAN at the bar.
ASHELY
Ian,
what are you doing back here again?
Haven’t I told you I don’t want to be seen with my geeky brother?
IAN
Just chill out, Ash. I have a lot going on
right now and I need to talk to someone about it.
ASHLEY
Why
don’t you tell that intern you spent New Year’s with? Mom told me you had a date. What’s her name?
IAN
It
wasn’t a date. I just went to a friend’s
house.
ASHLEY
Okay,
whatever. But what’s her name?
IAN
It
wasn’t a her.
It was a him.
Cyrus.
ASHLEY
Oh
no, please tell me you’re not adding gay to the long list of things about
yourself that make you different.
IAN
I
don’t want to talk about that, Ashley. I
came to talk to you about our father.
ASHLEY
What
about him?
IAN
Our REAL father, Dan Levin.
ASHLEY
Ian,
I told you a long time ago, that Dan Levin wasn’t my father. I don’t understand why you’ve always been so
obsessed with him.
IAN
Ash,
aren’t you the least bit curious about the man who gave you life? I have found out so many fascinating things.
ASHLEY
No,
Ian. I don’t want to know. The few things I do know are all bad, and I
don’t have time for that anyway. Does
Mom know you’re snooping around about this guy?
IAN
Of course not. She’d be furious. And you’d better not tell her either.
ASHLEY
Fine. I won’t say anything, but
just keep me out of it. I’m happy being
Ashley Thompson. And besides, don’t we
have enough problems without intentionally bringing a psycho into our lives.
IAN
Ash, there’s so much more to the man than you realize.
ASHLEY
I
don’t care, Ian, alright? Do what you
need to do, but I want nothing to do with any of the Levins,
got it?
