CYRUS

Damien. I REALLY like you.
DAMIEN
(still oblivious)
Okay. I’m not sure I’m following you here.
CYRUS
I knew this
wasn’t going to come out right. I don’t
know how else to say this, Damien. I
want to date you.
DAMIEN
WHAT!
CYRUS
My feelings
have been so confused for a long time now, but when I met you things started to
become clear.
DAMIEN
Oh boy. Look, man.
I..don’t play for
that team. You understand?
CYRUS
I didn’t
think I did either, but there’s something about you…
DAMIEN
Don’t say
anymore, Cyrus. I don’t even want to go
there with you.
CYRUS
Oh God, I’m
so humiliated. I’ve gotta
go.
Cyrus runs
out.
DAMIEN
(to himself)
What the
hell.
ANGELA is in
her office talking with BRIAN.
ANGELA
I don’t know
what happened. I didn’t have any
messages that day. What time did you call?
BRIAN
I don’t
know. 1:30 maybe?
ANGELA
Hmmm, Karen
was there at that time. Maybe the power
went off and the message was erased or something.
BRIAN
It doesn’t
matter now. What matters is that I am NOT
the person sending you those love letters and it hurt me that you would even
think that for a second. I mean, I do
have feelings for you, but I wouldn’t be so covert about it.
ANGELA
I felt so bad
for even thinking that for a second. I
didn’t mean what I said to you.
Sometimes I open my mouth and really stupid things come out. I’ve always had that problem.
BRIAN
(laughs)
I can believe
that.
ANGELA
I deserved
that.
BRIAN
So where do
we go from here? Can we pick up where we
left off?
ANGELA
I’d like to,
Brian. You are the best thing that’s
happened to me in a long time. When I
didn’t hear from you I was so disappointed.
BRIAN
I felt the
same way. But we have another chance and
I think we should take it.
ANGELA
I agree.
BRIAN
Then let’s not
waste any more time.

DANTE is
showing
I cannot
believe this place. I guess I should
have expected it to be so huge
judging by the size of the guest house, but still…
DANTE
Well, my
family has always liked to do things big.
My grandfather built this house.
He did a good
job.
DANTE
My father and
Barbara went out of town for a few days so we have the place all to ourselves.
I think I saw
a few people milling around before.
DANTE
That was just
the housekeeper and the gardener.
Paul and
Barbara come downstairs all aglow.
BARBARA
Paul, I can’t
stop looking at it.
PAUL
I had it
custom made for you.
DANTE
Dad! What are you doing here?!
