BARBARA is
sitting in the family room when MIRANDA walks in with FELICIA.
MIRANDA
Ms. Whitman,
your friend is back.
BARBARA
My friend?
FELICA
Hello,
Barbara.
BARBARA
Do I know
you?
FELICIA
I’m Felicia,
Damien’s friend.
BARBARA
Oh! Miranda, will you excuse us please?
MIRANDA
Is there
anything I can help with here?
BARBARA
Just give us
a little privacy, thanks.
MIRANDA
I’ll be
upstairs if you need me.
Miranda walks
upstairs.
BARBARA
Felicia, you
and I have never met before so I’m not sure what we could possibly have to
discuss.
FELICIA
Oh, Barbara,
that’s where you’re wrong. I saw you
with Damien at Sutter’s Mill the other night.
I know the two of you have been hot and heavy not once, but twice.
BARBARA
I don’t know
what you’re talking about.
FELICIA
Oh, but you
do. And ever since I saw you there and
figured out who Damien’s mystery woman was, I’ve been
doing a little research on you.
BARBARA
What kind of
research?
FELICIA
Research
that lead me here, to the Ramos estate. Nice place. I bet you love
living here. Rumor has it that Paul
Ramos may be proposing to you soon.
BARBARA
Who told you
that? What do you want from me?
FELICIA
Well,
Barbara. As much as I’ve tried myself to
snag a rich cat like Paul Ramos, it just hasn’t worked out for me. I guess you just have that something special
a man like that is looking for.
BARBARA
Paul and I
are in love.
FELICIA
(laughs)
In
love? How can you be in love with the man if you
were sleeping with Damien all this time?
BARBARA
I hardly
know, Damien. He’s a friend of my future
step-son, that’s all.
FELICIA
You’re
lying!
BARBARA
Felicia, I’m
not sure why you stopped by, but I think it’s time for you to go.
FELICIA
Oh, but I
haven’t even told you what I want from you yet.
BARBARA
You’re not
getting anything from me. Don’t make me
call security because I definitely will.
FELICIA
Not if you
don’t want Paul Ramos to know about your little affair with Damien.
BARBARA
Are you
trying to blackmail me or something?
FELICA
I knew you
were a smart woman.
BARBARA
Get the hell
out of here. I don’t have anything of
value, and even if I did, I wouldn’t give it to you. Who do you think you are?
FELICIA
I’m the woman
who can blow your sinking ship out of the water. I want twenty thousand dollars, and I want it
ASAP.
BARBARA
(laughs)
Twenty
thousand dollars? You think I can just come up with that kind
of cash at the drop of a hat? I may be
living at Paul’s estate but I hardly have a dime to my name. You’re nuts.
FELICIA
That’s
fine. Then I’ll just wait right here for
Paul to come home and I’ll see if the information is worth that much to him.
BARBARA
Blackmail is
illegal, honey. If you say a word to
Paul, I’ll go straight to the police and tell them you were trying to extort
money from me.
FELICIA
Go
ahead. I dare you. We’ll see who stands to lose more, you or me.
BARBARA
Look, I can’t
come up with twenty thousand dollars, I just can’t.
FELICIA
You should
have thought about that before you started doing my ex. Now, I have to get to my hair appointment,
but I’ll be in touch.
BARBARA
Don’t you
dare come back here.
FELICIA
I’ll give you
one week, Barbara. You find a way to
come up with the money or I’ll tell Paul everything and you’ll be out on the
streets. Take your pick.
ANGELA is
sitting at her desk when KAREN walks in.
KAREN
What’s
wrong? You didn’t receive another note
did you?
ANGELA
No. It’s not that.
KAREN
Then
what? Is it a patient?
ANGELA
It’s
Brian. We had a fight and now I don’t
know where things stand between us.
KAREN
Oh no. Is this your first fight?
ANGELA
Yes, and I
think I blew it. I practically came out
and accused Brian of being my secret admirer.
KAREN
WHAT! Brian?
I thought you never even considered him.
ANGELA
I hadn’t, but
then I found out he knew where I lived long before I told him.
KAREN
And how did
he know that?
ANGELA
He said he Googled my name and found it.
KAREN
So what did
he say when you accused him?
ANGELA
Well, I
didn’t come right out and accuse him, but I know he took it that way.
KAREN
And you
really think Brian might be doing this to you?
Wow. And you thought he was the
perfect guy.
ANGELA
He just
doesn’t seem like to type to do this, but I guess deep down, a part of me isn’t
sure who I can trust.
KAREN
I don’t blame
you, Angela. Maybe you should cool
things off with Brian for a while.
ELIJAH is
sitting at the bar talking to bartender DAMIEN
DAMIEN
So what’s up,
man? I hope you’re not here to badmouth
my best friend again.
ELIJAH
Don’t worry, Dante Ramos is the last thing I want to think about
right now.
DAMIEN
Good.
Cyrus walks
up.
CYRUS
Hi
Damien.
DAMIEN
Hey
Cyrus. What can I get for you?
CYRUS
I was
wondering if you had a break coming up.
There’s something I wanted to talk to you about?
DAMIEN
You wanted to
talk to me? Sorry, but my shift just
started.
CYRUS
Oh, okay.
Caroline
stomps up.
CAROLINE
Damien,
Cyrus! I think they’re here.
DAMIEN
Who’s here?
CAROLINE
The
person who tried to run me over outside the hospital.
I just parked next to a blue car that I swear is the same one!
