DANTE is
talking to a depressed DAMIEN.
DANTE
Man, what’s
up with you? You have been depressed
ever since I got back from
DAMIEN
I’m not
depressed. Why would you say that?
DANTE
Dude, I don’t
know what’s going on with you, but you’re not the same. And I can only think of one reason why that
would be.
DAMIEN
And what
would that be?
DANTE
A
woman, of course. Who is she?
DAMIEN
I’m not
seeing anyone right now, Dante. Okay?
DANTE
That’s pretty
obvious. We’ve been friends for years,
Damien. I know the look you get every
time you get your heart broken.
DAMIEN
I really
don’t want to talk about it if you don’t mind.
DANTE
Look, I won’t
try to force it out of you. But we’re
best friends. If you can’t talk to me,
who can you talk to?
DAMIEN
Just not
about this, alright? Can we change the
subject?
DANTE
Okay. What can you talk about?
DAMIEN
Tell me about
DANTE
Damien, I
haven’t said this out loud yet, but for the first time in my life. I think I’m in love.
MIRANDA
answers the doorbell and finds FELICIA on the doorstep.
MIRANDA
Yes? May I help you?
FELICIA
Hi. I’m looking for Barbara Whitman.
MIRANDA
Oh, I’m
afraid she isn’t in right now. Would you
like me to tell her you stopped by?
FELICIA
Uh, yes. Why don’t you do that.
MIRANDA
And your name
is…?
FELICIA
It’s
Felicia. Just tell her I’m an old friend
of Damien’s and that I need to speak to her urgently.
MIRANDA
(confused)
Okay. Can I tell her what this is about?
FELICIA
Just tell her
I know what she’s been up to and that I’ll be in touch with her VERY soon.
ANGELA is
talking with KAREN about her secret admirer.
KAREN
So now you’re
sure it isn’t Cyrus?
ANGELA
Damien said
he was at Sutter’s Mill with Cyrus at the same time I got the last note.
KAREN
But maybe the
timing was off or something. You need to
be sure before you rule him out.
ANGELA
That’s why
he’s on his way here right now. I’m
going to ask him point blank if he’s been sending me these letters.
KAREN
But I thought
you didn’t want to do that.
ANGELA
I didn’t, but
this has gotten a lot more serious after that last note. I need some answers here.
Cyrus knocks
and walks in.
CYRUS
Hello, Dr.
Givens. You wanted to see me?
ANGELA
Yes,
Cyrus. Thanks for stopping by.
KAREN
I’ll be at
the nurse’s station.
Karen walks
out.
CYRUS
So what is
this all about? I hope I didn’t do
anything wrong.
ANGELA
Cyrus. It’s about your secret crush and the letter
Karen saw you writing in the cafeteria.
I need to know who you were writing that letter to.
CYRUS
Dr. Givens,
forgive me, but that’s kind of personal information.
ANGELA
What if I
told you I already know who you were writing it to, and it’s very disturbing to
me?
CYRUS
You do? It is?
I guess I had a feeling you might think that.
ANGELA
So you knew
it would upset me but you continued to write the letters anyway?
CYRUS
Letters?
I just wrote one letter and I never even gave it to him.
ANGELA
Him?
What are you talking about Cyrus?
CYRUS
I wasn’t sure
how Damien would take it, so I never gave it to him. I didn’t mean to upset you.
ANGELA
Damien!!!!!!!!
